Atlanta (Wednesday, February 9, 2022) – HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T and Hampton Universities.
This week’s winners from January 31, 2022 – February 6, 2022:
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week Two-Time Winner
North Carolina Central University
A two-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with wins over Norfolk State (70-67) and Coppin State (69-68).
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Kyle Foster, Howard University
A four-time winner, Foster averaged 16.5 points and 3.5 rebounds for the week. In the game versus South Carolina State University, he scored 13 points and had 3 rebounds. In the victory versus University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Foster scored 20 points and had 4 rebounds.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Ben Wallace Power Forward ) Deaquan Williams, South Carolina State University
The three-time winner recorded a “double-double” against Howard University this week with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Southern University
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with a win on the road versus Jackson State University (75-64) and at home versus Alabama A&M (73-64).

(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Jawaun Daniels, Prairie View A&M
Daniels is a three-time winner and scored 20 points along with 3 rebounds in a one-point loss to Bethune-Cookman University (68-67).

Tennessee State University
The Tigers went 1-1 for the week, with a home loss to OVC power Belmont University and a road win versus University of Tennessee Martin (69-61).

(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Kassim Nicholson, Tennessee State University
A five-time winner, Nicholson nearly averaged a “double-double” for the week with 9.5 points and 9 rebounds per game.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Team of the Week
Shaw University
The Bears went undefeated for the week (2-0) and had victories at home versus inner-city rival St. Augustine University (53-47) and on the road at Elizabeth City State University (70-49).
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Player of the Week
(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Cameron Campbell, Winston Salem State University
A two-time winner, Campbell averaged 17 points in two wins and scored clutch baskets in their 2nd overtime win for the week versus St. Augustine University.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Tuskegee University
Went undefeated (2-0) for the week and beat Kentucky State University twice on the road (69-67) and at home (79-64).

Miles College
Went undefeated (2-0) for the week and won at Lane (53-45) and at home versus Clark Atlanta University (77-47).

(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Tajh Green, Benedict College
Green, a three-time winner, averaged a “double-double” with 18.5 points and 10 rebounds in 2 games.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Rick Mahorn Center) Jaquan Lawrence, LeMoyne-Owen College
A two-time winner, Lawrence averaged a “double-double” with 15 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will continue highlighting HBCU legends Dick Barnett Point Guards, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guards, Bobby Dandridge Small Forwards, Ben Wallace Power Forwards, and Rick Mahorn Centers.
The 2022 HBCU All-Star Game, a college basketball showcase highlighting the best HBCU players in the country, will be held at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM, ET.

The HBCU All-Star Game, which begins this season, will feature the best talent from the four Historically Black Athletic Conferences, representing the legendary coaches Team John McClendon (MEAC & SIAC) and Team Clarence “Big House” Gaines (SWAC & CIAA) along with Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities. The game will be held annually on the Sunday of Final Four weekend in the host city.
The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
