ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, December 26, 2023) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its seventh 2023-24 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.

This week’s winners from December 17-23:

•  HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week

  Ja’Darius Harris
  North Carolina Central University (Alvin Attles Jr. Point Guard)
  Averaged 36 mpg, 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.
  
  

• HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week

  North Carolina Central University
  Went 1-0, with an upset victory over Longwood University (79-70) breaking Longwood‘s
  12-game winning streak.

Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, the HBCU All-Stars Basketball Movement with 65 of the nation’s top players will be one for the record books representing the best in Black college basketball from our four premier NCAA Division I & II Black College Conferences, MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, and three independent teams, Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities. This is year three on this national platform, making history with our amazing CBS Sports partners, one day before the NCAA Men’s National Championship game in Phoenix on Sunday, April 7, 2024. I am also very proud to say that our experienced HBCU All-Stars national scouting staff have been working extremely hard scouting, evaluating, and setting the stage for one of the most competitive, skilled, and talented HBCU All-Star Game in 103 days on CBS Television Network. What makes this even more special is to have the full support of Grand Canyon University President Brian Mueller

and his outstanding administration team, faculty, staff, and students, including Athletics Director Jamie Boggs, the athletics department staff, and the legendary godfather of basketball, Jerry Colangelo. We welcome the unwavering support during college basketball’s biggest weekend from the great city of Phoenix, the Mayor’s office, the local community, business, government, civic, church, nonprofit and social justice leaders, and many of the professional sports teams, NBA Phoenix Suns,
WNBA Phoenix Mercury, NFL Arizona Cardinals, and Nascar Phoenix Raceway. Our HBCU All-Stars community outreach and grassroots ticketing team are establishing some great relationships and connecting with many of the influential HBCU alumni, key stakeholders, fans, parks and recreation organizations, YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs, high schools, colleges, and universities to sell tickets to the HBCU All-Star Game and promote our give back for the Phoenix communities.”

Our HBCU All-Stars National Scouts with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting will continue attending games and evaluating, scouting, and recruiting the nation’s top 60 players across the country from the 2024 Watch List.

HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will highlight and showcase the nation’s best HBCU student-athletes and brilliant coaches on a national stage.

HBCU All-Stars LLC will honor the illustrious playing careers of Alvin Attles Jr, North Carolina A&T State University (CIAA), John Chaney, Bethune-Cookman University (SIAC), Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson, Tennessee State University (Independent), Robert Earl “Bob “Love, Southern University (SWAC), Zelmo “Big Z” Beaty, Prairie View A&M University (SWAC).  All of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2023-24 basketball season and host the third annual HBCU All-Star Game on the breathtaking campus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.

This event is far more than a basketball game.  HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game (April 9).  It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by an HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice and civil Rights panel discussion.

The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on
Paramount+.
