HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced the first ever HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.
According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO “This is history in the making and we have an outstanding opportunity starting now until the end of the season to weekly recognize some of the most hard-working, talented, deserving, and ambitious HBCU student-athletes and teams across the country with our CBS Sports partners. Legendary and former HBCU coach Cy Alexander is HBCU All-Stars National Director of Scouting and Recruiting, and one of the most respected and influential coaches in college basketball. Coach Alexander is the epitome of success in the HBCU community and spearheading our HBCU All-Stars National scouting and recruitment efforts with some of the most brilliant former HBCU head and assistant coaches. Montez Robinson, Eric Skeeters, Anthony Sewell, Stacy Beckton, Vince Robinson, and David Dennis brings a wealth of successful coaching, scouting, and recruitment expertise to the HBCU basketball culture and very important player selection process for the 2021-22 HBCU All-Stars. HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selection will highlight HBCU legends Dick Barnett Point Guards, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guards, Bobby Dandridge Small Forwards, Ben Wallace Power Forwards, and Rick Mahorn Centers.
