HBCU ALL-STARS ANNOUNCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK & TEAM OF THE WEEK HONORS, CELEBRATING THE BEST IN BLACK COLLEGE BASKETBALL
FOURTH ANNUAL MEN’S HBCU ALL-STAR GAME AND FIRST EVER WOMEN’S HBCU ALL-STAR GAME TO BE HELD AT FREEMAN COLISEUM IN SAN ANTONIO ON SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 2025
ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1, 2025) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its sixth 2024-25 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week, Team of the Week, and National Spotlight Player” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU men and women student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.
“Playing games leading up to the Christmas Holiday season brings so much joy and happiness to our HBCU players and teams in week #6 honor and recognition. There is a new sense of urgency and appreciation coming back after the Christmas celebration for a new season…”
About The Watch List
Our HBCU All-Stars National Scouts with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting will continue attending games, evaluating, scouting, and recruiting the nation’s top 100 men and women players across the country from the 2024-25 Watch List.

Men’s Player of the Week
- Wayne Bristol Jr, Hampton University – Averaged 28 mpg, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks for the week.
Men’s Team of the Week
- Independent Men’s Team of the Week: Hampton University – Went (1-0) for the week with a win over Howard University (83-67) at home in a nationally televised game in the HBCU Showcase. They have (8-5) overall record and five-game winning streak.
- Independent Men’s Team of the Week: North Carolina A&T State University – Went (1-0) for the week with a win over North Carolina Central University (85-72) at home in a nationally televised game in the HBCU Showcase.
- CIAA Men’s Team of the Week: Lincoln University – Went (1-0) for the week with a conference win over Livingstone College (64-63). They have (8-5) overall record and a four-game win streak.
National Spotlight Men’s Player of the Week
- Wayne Bristol Jr, Hampton University – Averaged 28 mpg, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks for the week.

About The All Star Game
This event is far more than a basketball game. HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2 and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game (April 9). It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by a HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice & Civil Rights panel discussion.
