Inaugural HBCU All-Star Game to be held at UNO Lakefront Arena on Sunday, April 3, 2022

Atlanta (Wednesday, February 16, 2022) – HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T and Hampton Universities.
This week’s winners from February 7 – 13, 2022:
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Howard University
Went undefeated for the week (3-0) with two conference wins. The Bison won at Delaware State (69-64) and at home vs. Gallaudet (96-38) and vs. Delaware State (85-72).
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week- Co-Winner
South Carolina State University
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with conference wins at home vs. NCCU (74-68) and on the road at Coppin State (66-58).
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Kyle Foster, Howard University
A five time-winner, Foster averaged 19.3 points in three games while shooting 14 of 29 (48%) from the three-point line.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Ben Wallace Power Forward) Edward Oliver-Hampton, SC State
In two games, Oliver-Hampton averaged a “double double” with 11.5 points & 11 rebounds while shooting nine of 13 (69%) from the field.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Texas Southern University
A two-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with a road win vs. BCU (66-63) and a home win vs. GSU (68-64). Team currently owns a six-game winning streak and is tied for first place with a 9-3 conference record.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Jackson State University
Went undefeated for the week (2-0) with a road win vs. Arkansas PB (60-47) and a home win vs FAMU (60-56). Team currently has a three-game winning streak.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Player of the Week
(Dick Barnett Point Guard) Jonas James, Jackson State University
In two wins for JSU, James averaged 14 points, including 17 points vs. FAMU.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent Team of the Week
NC A&T
A four-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with wins at home vs. CSU (62-51) & Longwood (69-61), snapping their 11-game winning streak.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent Player of the Week
(Dick Barnett Point Guard ) Kam Langley, NC A&T
In two wins for the Aggies, Langley averaged 15 points, shooting 60% from the field (9/15). In the victory over Longwood, he also had five rebounds, five assists, & four steals.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Team of the Week
Virginia Union University
A two-time winner, went undefeated for the week (3-0) with wins vs. Claflin, (80-64), Bowie (82-56) and at Lincoln (79-71). Team is on a six-game winning streak and overall is 19-6 with an 11-3 conference record and 6-2 division record.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Player of the Week
(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Javonte Cooke, WSSU
In going undefeated for the week, Cooke led the Rams averaging 23 points. In two games, he shot 54% from the field, 57% from the three-point line and averaged six rebounds.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Miles College
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with home victories over Lane (61-39) and Clark Atlanta (55-40). Team is currently on a 12-game winning streak with an overall 19-3 record and 13-1 conference record.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Morehouse College
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week beating crosstown rival Clark Atlanta twice (86-64 and 91-90 in double OT). The team has a 12-2 conference record and is 15-6 overall.

(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Tim Bing, Benedict College
A three-time winner, Bing averaged 15 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists & 3 steals in two wins.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Player of the Week Co-Winner
(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Noah Morgan, Morehouse College
A two-time winner, Morgan averaged 13.5 points & 2.5 rebounds to help Morehouse improve its conference record to 12-2.

Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, and former Head Coach at two prestigious HBCUs (Tennessee State and Fort Valley State University): “Last week the city of New Orleans and Mayor LaToya Cantrell, a very proud graduate from Xavier University of Louisiana met with our HBCU All-Stars staff and team. We also had a very private “meet and greet” with the local New Orleans community of business supporters, the movers, shakers, influencers, and ambassadors in the city. It is time for all of us celebrate in 47 days this history making movement in the great city of New Orleans for the first-ever HBCU All-Star Game during Final Four Weekend. Our marketing and promotions teams are in place for this historic game with so many of our distinguished coaches vying for the regular season and Conference Tournament Championships in the SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities. We are very excited about this historic event and look forward to supporting some of the nation’s best players in Black college basketball from our distinguished 48 teams and prestigious HBCUs across the country. HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will continue highlighting HBCU legends Dick Barnett Point Guards, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guards, Bobby Dandridge Small Forwards, Ben Wallace Power Forwards, and Rick Mahorn Centers.
The 2022 HBCU All-Star Game, a college basketball showcase highlighting the best HBCU players in the country, will be held at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM, ET.

The HBCU All-Star Game, which begins this season, will feature the best talent from the four Historically Black Athletic Conferences, representing the legendary coaches Team John McClendon (MEAC & SIAC) and Team Clarence “Big House” Gaines (SWAC & CIAA) along with Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities. The game will be held annually on the Sunday of Final Four weekend in the host city.
The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
