Inaugural HBCU All-Star Game to be held at UNO Lakefront Arena on Sunday, April 3, 2022 Black History, Black Excellence & Black Cultural Experiences
ATLANTA (Wednesday, December 22, 2021) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.
This week’s winners from December 12th – 19th, 2021:
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week (Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard):
Randy Miller Jr., North Carolina Central University
Averaged 16.5 points per game in two wins, including scoring 23 points and making six of nine three-pointers in the last game
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week:
North Carolina Central University
Impressive home win vs. Gardner Webb University and inaugural Legacy Classic win.
Went 2-0 for the week and has current three-game winning streak
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Player of the Week (Dick Barnett Point Guard):
Jayden Saddler, Southern University
Had 17 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds in 78-76 comeback road win vs. Kent State
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Team of the Week:
Very tough and hard fought 78-76 road win vs. Kent State after being down by 17 points at half
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent HBCU Player of the Week (Bobby Dandridge Small Forward):
Kassim Nicholson, Tennessee State University
Averaged 14.5 points in two games and finished with team high 11 rebounds in last game for double-double

Huge 69-67 road win over Southern Conference member East Tennessee State University
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Player of the Week (Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard):
Jalen Seegars, Fayetteville State University
Averaged 17 points this week in two wins and had 10 rebounds in one of the games
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Team of the Week:
Elizabeth City State University
Team has a three-game winning streak to finish week 3-0 and won all games in double digits
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week:
Benedict College (third consecutive week)
Team went 3-0 again this week and currently has an eight-game winning streak
- HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Player of the Week (Rick Mahorn Center):
Anthony Fairley, Miles College
Led team to 2-0 record this week and averaged 12.5 points, 7 rebounds per game, and shot 73% from the field.

Our HBCU men’s basketball programs are consistently playing high level basketball across the country. We will showcase some of the best players from the 48 teams in the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities.”
HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will continue highlighting HBCU legends Dick Barnett Point Guards, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guards, Bobby Dandridge Small Forwards, Ben Wallace Power Forwards, and Rick Mahorn Centers.
The 2022 HBCU All-Star Game, a college basketball showcase highlighting the best HBCU players in the country, will be held at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM, ET.

The HBCU All-Star Game, which begins this season, will feature the best talent from the four Historically Black Athletic Conferences, representing the legendary coaches Team John McClendon (MEAC & SIAC) and Team Clarence “Big House” Gaines (SWAC & CIAA) along with Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities. The game will be held annually on the Sunday of Final Four weekend in the host city.
The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
