ANNOUNCES PLAYER OF THE WEEK & TEAM OF THE WEEK HONORS
Inaugural HBCU All-Star Game to be held at UNO Lakefront Arena on Sunday, April 3, 2022

Atlanta (Wednesday, February 23, 2022) – HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced HBCU All-Stars,
“Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes
from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T and Hampton Universities
This week’s winners from February 14-20, 2022:
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Team of the Week
Howard University
A two-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with a road win at UMES (77-71) and a huge
comeback victory over arch rival Morgan State (68-66) in the inaugural NBA-HBCU Classic. The Bison
now have a conference record of 7-3 and are 14-10 overall.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week
(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Kyle Foster, Howard University
A six-time winner, Foster averaged 20 points, shooting 47% from the three-point line. He also averaged
4.5 rebounds & had two block shots to seal the win late in the game against Morgan State.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Team of the Week
Alcorn State
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0), winning home games vs. FAMU (68-56) & vs.
JSU (61-60). The team now has a conference record of 10-4 and is tied for 1st place.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Player of the Week
(Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guard) Jawaun Daniels, Prairie View A&M
A four-time winner, Daniels averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds & 4.5 assists in two victories, showing his
ability to be a complete player as a 6’7” shooting guard.

HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent Team of the Week
Tennessee State University
A four-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) with home conference victories over SIUE (81-
65) & EIU (69-43).
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent Player of the Week
(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Kassim Nicholson, Tennessee State University
A five-time winner, Nicholson averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field
and 50% from the three-point line.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Team of the Week
Fayetteville State
A three-time winner, went undefeated for the week (2-0) as the Broncos captured the No. 1 seed for the
upcoming CIAA Tournament. Won at home vs Claflin (62-56) & on the road at St. Augustine (57-51) to
seal the regular-season title.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Player of the Week
(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Jordan Peebles, Virginia Union
A two-time winner, Peebles led Va. Union to two wins and averaged 10.5 points & 6 rebounds.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Morehouse College
A four-time winner, Morehouse extended its winning streak to 15 games with three wins during the week
over Fort Valley (78-70), at Allen (80-66) and at perennial conference power Benedict (88-76). The team
now owns a 13-2 conference record and an overall record of 18-6.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Team of the Week Co-Winner
Miles College
A four-time winner, Miles extended its winning streak to 16 games with three wins during the week over
Spring Hill (62-58), at KSU (77-74) and at Central State (61-37). The team now has a conference record
of 16-1 and an overall record of 22-3.
HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II SIAC Player of the Week
(Bobby Dandridge Small Forward) Noah Morgan, Morehouse College
A three-time winner, Morgan led Morehouse to three wins, averaging 13 points and shooting 35% from
the field & 40% from the three-point line.

According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, and former Head Coach at two
prestigious HBCUs (Tennessee State and Fort Valley State University): “We are 40 days from hosting the
first-ever, historical and impactful HBCU All-Star Game in college basketball during Final Four
Weekend in New Orleans. Last week during NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, our distinguished
HBCU basketball programs shined with numerous Watch List players. Now, we are in the final stretch
with the CIAA Tournament Championship this week and the SIAC Tournament Championship the
following week. The SWAC & MEAC teams are making a final push to finish the season strong. Our
Independent teams Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities are fighting to the
end in their respective conferences. We are very excited about this historic event and look forward to
supporting some of the nation’s best players in Black college basketball from our distinguished 48 teams
and prestigious HBCUs across the country. Our hard-working, talented, and ambitious student-athletes,
outstanding teams and coaches are working hard on a weekly basis.”
HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will continue highlighting HBCU legends Dick Barnett
Point Guards, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe Shooting Guards, Bobby Dandridge Small Forwards, Ben
Wallace Power Forwards, and Rick Mahorn Centers.
The 2022 HBCU All-Star Game, a college basketball showcase highlighting the best HBCU players in
the country, will be held at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM, ET.

The HBCU All-Star Game, which begins this season, will feature the best talent from the four Historically
Black Athletic Conferences, representing the legendary coaches Team John McClendon (MEAC &
SIAC) and Team Clarence “Big House” Gaines (SWAC & CIAA) along with Tennessee State, Hampton,
and North Carolina A&T State Universities. The game will be held annually on the Sunday of Final Four
weekend in the host city.
The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on
Paramount+.
