INAUGURAL HBCU ALL-STAR GAME TO BE HELD AT UNO LAKEFRONT ARENA IN NEW ORLEANS DURING FINAL FOUR WEEKEND

HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced that the 2022 HBCU All-Star Game, a college basketball showcase highlighting the best HBCU players in the country, will be held at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM, ET.  

Tickets for the 2022 HBCU All-Star Game will go on sale on today, Friday, November 12, 2021 and can be purchased through UNO Lakefront Arena at www.arena.uno.edu.  The HBCU All-Star Game, which begins this season, will feature the best talent from the four Historically Black Athletic Conferences, representing the legendary coaches Team John McClendon (MEAC & SIAC) versus and Team Clarence “Big House” Gaines (SWAC & CIAA) along with Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities.  The game will be held annually on the Sunday of Final Four weekend in the host city.

The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.   

UNO Lakefront Arena serves as the home of University of New Orleans basketball and is a multi-purpose facility located in the metro-New Orleans area.

This is event is far more than a basketball game.  It will celebrate Black culture, Black excellence, and Black history through the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by a college admissions fair. Also surrounding the game, HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, March 29 and conclude the following Tuesday after the National Championship game (April 5).  

The HBCU All-Star Game will generate black tourism dollars to stimulate the local New Orleans community and invest in youth and senior citizens outreach programs.  A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the HBCU All-Stars Scholarship Fund.  For more information, please go to www.hbcuallstargame.com and www.hbcuallstargameexperience.org
