ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, February 14, 2024) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its 14th 2023-24 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.

This week’s winners from February 4-10:

•  HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week
  Seth Towns, Howard University (Robert Earl “Bob” Love Small Forward)
  Averaged 29 mpg, 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals

  South Carolina State University
  Went 2-0 with wins over Coppin State University (77-65) and Chicago State University (78-55)

  Virginia Union University
  Went 2-0 with wins over Lincoln University (PA) (78-64) and Bluefield State University (89-77);
  the team is in second place in the Northern Division and is one game behind the first-place team

  Southern University

  the team is on a five-game winning streak and is tied for first place
  
  

• HBCU All-Stars National Spotlight Division II Team of the Week
  

  Clark Atlanta University
  Went 2-0 with wins over Albany State University (73- 54) and Savannah State University (72-54);
  the team is on a 12-game winning streak tied for first place in the East Division

According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, “Week #14 is a pivotal stretch for so many teams and they did not disappoint throughout the week. With only two weeks remaining for the CIAA Regular Season Conference Championship and CIAA Tournament Championships, Lincoln University (PA) still sits at the top in the Northern Division of the CIAA and first place. Fayetteville State University is still currently in first place in the Southern Division of the CIAA. There are also two weeks remaining for the SIAC Regular Season Conference Championship and SIAC Tournament Championships. Clark Atlanta (20-3) is the hottest team in the SIAC and has a 12-game winning streak and (12-3) in league play. Morehouse College (16-7) is tied for first in the SIAC East Division (13-3). Miles College (17-5) is playing some great basketball and holding on in the West Division (12-4) with a six-game winning streak. Southern University (15-9) has a six-game winning streak and is in first place in the SWAC at (9-2). Grambling State (8-3) is in second place and sits one game back. The MEAC is still in a two-way battle at the top with Norfolk State

University (5-2) and North Carolina Central University (5-2) in league play. The HBCU All-Stars Tour continued in Las Vegas during Super Bowl Weekend, and I attended numerous NFL and HBCU events, and did some outstanding promotions and marketing for the third annual HBCU All-Star Game at Grand Canyon University.”

HBCU All-Stars LLC will honor the illustrious playing careers of Alvin Attles Jr., North Carolina A&T State University (CIAA), John Chaney, Bethune-Cookman University (SIAC), Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson, Tennessee State University (Independent), Robert Earl “Bob” Love, Southern University (SWAC), Zelmo “Big Z” Beaty, Prairie View A&M University (SWAC). Each of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2023-24 basketball season and host the third annual HBCU All-Star Game at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.

The HBCU All-Star Game is far more than a basketball game. HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game, April 9. It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by an HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice & Civil Rights panel discussion.

Paramount+.
