ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, December 13, 2023) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its fifth 2023-24 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.

This week’s winners from December 3-9:

  •  HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Player of the Week

    Wynston Tabbs
    Morgan State University
    (John Chaney Shooting Guard) Averaged 28.5 mpg, 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1 steal

    Norfolk State University

According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, “What an impressive week #5 by our HBCU teams across the country showing the world why HBCU basketball matters. There is not a better feeling in the world than knowing that we have some of the most talented, hardworking, ambitious, and deserving players and outstanding coaches representing the best in Black college basketball at a very high level each week. Our top 65 HBCU All-Stars watch list players, coaches, and teams are being recognized for their great work on and off the basketball. They have finished strong and on a high note academically with final exams taking place this past week and can now focus strictly on basketball heading into the holiday season and 2024. We have seen numerous watch list players and teams receive player and team of the week
honors on a few occasions, two and three-game winning streaks in the MEAC, SWAC, SIAC, and CIAA, as well as undefeated conference records so far in SIAC and CIAA play.”

Our HBCU All-Stars National Scouts with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting will continue attending games and evaluating, scouting, and recruiting the nation’s top 60 players across the country from the 2024 Watch List.

 

HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will highlight and showcase the nation’s best HBCU student-athletes and brilliant coaches on a national stage.

HBCU All-Stars LLC will honor the illustrious playing careers of Alvin Attles Jr, North Carolina A&T State University (CIAA), John Chaney, Bethune-Cookman University (SIAC), Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson, Tennessee State University (Independent), Robert Earl “Bob “Love, Southern University (SWAC), Zelmo “Big Z” Beaty, Prairie View A&M University (SWAC).  All of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2023-24 basketball season and host the third annual HBCU All-Star Game on the breathtaking campus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.

This event is far more than a basketball game.  HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game (April 9).  It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by an HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice and civil Rights panel discussion.

The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on
Paramount+.
