ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, January 3, 2024) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its eighth 2023-24 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week and Team of the Week” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.

This week’s winners from December 24-30:

    Seth Towns
    Howard University, Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson
    Averaged 35 mpg, 18 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

    Delaware State University
    Went 1-0 with a win over Mount St. Mary’s University (77-73).

Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, “We are less than 100 days from hosting the third annual HBCU All-Star Game on Sunday, April 7 at Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix during Final Four weekend. With the new year here, there is so much anticipation and excitement for this historic event and we will continue celebrating the best in Black College Basketball every week with our 49 participating HBCUs, talented student-athletes, and brilliant coaches. The CIAA is four games into league play, SIAC five games into league play, OVC two games, and CAA teams are just getting started for the regular season and conference tournament
championships. The MEAC and SWAC will begin league play next week and our HBCU All-Stars national scouts are locked in evaluating the top 65 watch list players on a high level.”


Our HBCU All-Stars National Scouts with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting will continue attending games and evaluating, scouting, and recruiting the nation’s top 60 players across the country from the 2024 Watch List.

HBCU All-Stars Player of the Week selections will highlight and showcase the nation’s best HBCU student-athletes and brilliant coaches on a national stage.

HBCU All-Stars LLC will honor the illustrious playing careers of Alvin Attles Jr, North Carolina A&T State University (CIAA), John Chaney, Bethune-Cookman University (SIAC), Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson, Tennessee State University (Independent), Robert Earl “Bob “Love, Southern University (SWAC), Zelmo “Big Z” Beaty, Prairie View A&M University (SWAC).  All of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2023-24 basketball season and host the third annual HBCU All-Star Game on the breathtaking campus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.

This event is far more than a basketball game.  HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game (April 9).  It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by an HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice and civil Rights panel discussion.

The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on
Paramount+.
