According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO:

“As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday season, we are truly proud to show the world our HBCUs matter. I am speaking both personally and professionally with 17 successful years of coaching experiences at two HBCUs, Tennessee State University and Fort Valley State University.

We have 48 participating teams, coaches, support staff, and the nation’s top 100 men and women HBCU players on the 2024-25 HBCU All-Star Game Watch List and entering the first week of recognizing player and team of the week honors. Our NCAA Division I MEAC, SWAC, Independent teams in the CAA, and NCAA Division II CIAA, SIAC teams are competing at a very high level, with each game counting toward the regular season and conference tournament championship.

On top of that, these brilliant HBCU coaches, hardworking, and very talented student-athletes are more focused and determined than ever. I look forward to each team really positioning themselves to cut down the nets in late February for CIAA conference tournament championships, and in March for the MEAC, SWAC, SIAC Conference Tournament Championships, along with the NCAA Division I and II tournament berths.

Our HBCU All-Stars National Scouts, with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting, will continue attending games and evaluating, scouting, and recruiting the nation’s top 100 men and women players across the country from the 2024-25 Watch List.

HBCU All-Stars Player and Team of the Week and National Spotlight selections will highlight and showcase the nation’s best HBCU student-athletes and brilliant coaches on a global stage. HBCU All-Stars LLC will continue honoring the illustrious playing careers of legendary players and coaches representing our four premier Black college conferences: SWAC, MEAC, CIAA, SIAC, and Independent teams Tennessee State, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T State Universities.

All of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA, WNBA, internationally, and in their coaching and professional careers. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2024-25 basketball season and the fourth annual HBCU All-Star Game at the historic Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio.

This event is far more than a basketball game. HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off the week on Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game (April 9). It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by a HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice & Civil Rights panel discussion.”
