Celebrating the Best in Black College Basketball

Fourth Annual Men’s HBCU All-Star Game and First Ever Women’s HBCU All-Star Game to be Held at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio on Sunday, April 6, 2025

ATLANTA (WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2024) HBCU All-Stars LLC has announced its second 2024-25 HBCU All-Stars “Player of the Week, Team of the Week, and National Spotlight Player” honors featuring the nation’s top HBCU men and women student-athletes from the MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton Universities.

HBCU All-Stars “Men’s Player of the Week, Team of the Week, and National Spotlight Player Honors”

  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Men’s Player of the Week
    Reggie Ward Jr., Bethune Cookman University
    Average 30.0 mpg, 11.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 1 steal for the week.
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I SWAC Men’s Team of the Week
    Southern University
    Went (2-0) for the week with wins over Champion Christian (121-58), and a big win over a 7-0 Louisiana Tech (73-70) to finish the week with an overall record (3-4).
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Men’s Player of the Week
    Brian Moore Jr., Norfolk State University
    Average 34.0 mpg, 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists for the week.

    Went (1-0) for the week with a win over UC Davis (76-55) to complete a west coast trip. With the win, Norfolk State has an overall record of (5-3).

    Went (1-1) for the week with a win over Duquesne (64-59) and completed the week with a loss against High Point (76-73) in the Cayman Islands Classic.
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Men’s Player of the Week
    Clint Wright, Virginia State University
    Average 31 mpg, 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists for the week.
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division II CIAA Men’s Co-Teams of the Week
    Johnson C. Smith University: Went (2-0) for the week with wins over Carolina Christian College (93-61) and Virginia Union University (67-65). Johnson C. Smith has a 3-2 overall record and a three-game winning streak.
    Virginia State University: Went (2-0) for the week with an impressive win over Fayetteville State University (94-82). Virginia State has a (3-3) overall record and a two-game winning streak.

    Went (1-0) for the week as the Spartans completed a three-game west coast swing with a win over UC Davis (76-55). Norfolk State has an overall record of (5-3) with three true road wins.

    Savannah State University, (SIAC)
    Went (2-0) for the week with wins over USC Beaufort (80-69) at home and Kentucky State University (59-56). Savannah State has a (3-2) overall record and a three-game winning streak.

    Went (1-1) for the week falling on the road at Utah Valley (56-54) but bounced back with an impressive road win at San Diego (78-67).
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Women’s Player of the Week
    Laila Lawrence, Coppin State University
    Averaged 33 mpg, 17.6 points, and 11.6 rebounds for the week.
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I MEAC Women’s Team of the Week
    Coppin State University
    Went (2-1) for the week with wins over Sacred Heart (59-47) and North Florida (76-61).
  • HBCU All-Stars NCAA Division I Independent Women’s Player of the Week
    Jordyn Dorsey, North Carolina A&T State University
    Averaged 31 mpg, 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for the week.

    Went (1-0) for the week with a dominant (62-39) victory over in-state rival North Carolina Central.

Additional Highlights: The HBCU All-Stars National Scouts, with over 100 combined years of coaching, scouting, and recruiting experience, will continue to evaluate the top 100 players across the nation. The fourth annual HBCU All-Star Game at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio will celebrate the best in Black college basketball and feature a week-long festival with community outreach, a pro day combine, and a college admissions fair.
